And we are in need of a co-conspirator (aka Account Executive) to join us! We are looking to reset expectations— what brands expect from agencies and what consumers expect from brands. As such, we want to work with people that have a diverse background, agitators to the status quo that don’t fit into a single “box.”

We’re looking for passionate and innovative thinkers ready to help lead brands into the future of digital and social communications. The Account Coordinator (AC) position will play a critical role within the Demonstrate PR team, driving the development and implementation of client’s communications strategy in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. An AC is responsible for assisting with day-to-day duties of the public relations campaign and oversight of all public relations and social media needs for client accounts. S/He will work with Account Executives (AE)/Account Supervisors (AS) in an administrative capacity and may be called upon to serve as representatives of the company and as liaisons between the AE and client. S/he will be responsible for raising client’s brand awareness through broadcast, print and online public relations outreach. S/he will assist with strategic planning, media list development, influencer identification, client reporting, press outreach, sample sends and have direct reporting responsibility for training interns as needed. An AC reports to the AE, AS and Sr. Social Media Manager. This is an office-based role. An AC will spend time in meetings and briefings. Occasional travel might be required for client visits, new business presentations and planning meetings. Although an AC’s commitment will tend to be standard office hours, deadlines or the demands of a client may see the AC working early or late to ensure continued success.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Assist with general daily office and administrative duties including saving documents and images to the server

- Work as part of an account team to implement media plans

- Undertake the necessary monitoring and evaluation activities in order to determine the success or otherwise of communications strategies

- Support in development of editorial content calendars

- Stay up-to-date on relevant news and current trends in media

- Seek out media outlets and contacts, researching, learning, building and maintaining relationships with media

- Utilize Cision to create thorough and up-to-date media lists, as well as researching and learning new media on an ongoing basis

- Write first drafts of press kits which include bios, fact sheets, etc.; updating as necessary

- Research and write pitches/press releases

- Act as primary liaison for sample pulls and fulfillment to media

- Assist senior leadership with event management, including press conferences, opening events and promotional events

- Assist with organizing media events as required

- Monitor incoming press coverage and ensuring clips meet company standards

- Contribute expertise in the areas of social media and online engagement to clients overall strategic planning

- Demonstrate commitment to industry, agency and clients by mastering industry knowledge and trends, understanding and clients’ business

- Stay up-to-date on relevant news and current trends in media

- Attend client meetings as appropriate to assess the progress of the social media campaigns

- Create shareable content appropriate for specific networks to spread both our clients brand and content

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop/manage influencer relations programs and successfully implement related activities where needed

- Ability to identify cultural trends, memes, and timely news stories in order to capitalize on them on behalf of our clients through social media, earned media, or paid media

- Monitor and engage in relevant social discussions about our clients, competitors, and/or industry, both from existing customers as well as from brand new audiences

- Ensure that all client media coverage is recorded for dissemination to key stakeholders; scanning and archiving editorial placements

- Ensure that all consumer and media outreach are in the client’s brand voice

- Align with staff responsible for updating and developing client’s presence on social media networks, including the content calendar, adherence to the brand voice and relationship building with social media influencers and potential partners

- Respond, or ensure that another staff member responds, to public inquiries received online

- Assist senior team leaders on accounts to ensure completion of assigned tasks and public relations efforts

- Assist with scheduling, sample pull and send and office operations

- Schedule weekly status calls with client and extended Demonstrate PR team

- Responsible for ongoing status updates and weekly/monthly reports with detailed project updates, results and significant developments on all assigned accounts

The ideal AC candidate will have an understanding of the fast-paced media world and also must be professional, enthusiastic, a solid team player and possess a drive for results. S/he should have outgoing entrepreneurial energy, ability to multi-task, strong decision making and analytical skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to think strategically and creatively, the ability to prioritize tasks and manage them in an orderly fashion, a willingness to roll up his/her sleeves, self-motivated with a passion for communications and marketing.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or Communications

- 1+ year of relevant experience in communications and/or public relations. Additional experience in Interactive Communications, Social Media Management, advertising, in the consumer goods industry preferred

- Exceptional written communications skills, with the ability to adapt style to suit different communications media and audiences

- Enthusiasm for new opportunities presented by blogging and social media

- Demonstrable experience of communicating complex and nuanced issues to the media

- Excellent interpersonal skills

- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, outside normal office hours and to be on call as required during early mornings, evenings and weekends to handle media inquiries

- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, and willingness to 'pitch in' as required

- Ability to prioritize and assist multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-oriented environment while paying attention to detail

- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Cision required.
