We are looking for an energetic and driven Media Relations Specialist to join our Lifestyle Marketing team.

The Lifestyle Marketing division consists of a diverse group of strategists, brand builders and visual storytellers. With our finger on the pulse of fashion, tech, travel and lifestyle trends – we get people talking about our creative, buzzworthy 3-dimentional ideas and secure high-quality editorial coverage.

The right candidate will be ambitious, a strategic thinker, a strong writer, excellent communicator, obsessed with all things pop-culture and a creative storyteller. A cultural guru at heart, this candidate should have a good handle on the ever-evolving news cycle and developing trends. Must have a strong background in account management, as well as high-level editorial contacts in across consumer and lifestyle publications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As media relations leader, you will:

-Responsible for building and maintaining excellent press relationships with national business, consumer, lifestyle trade publications; as well as mainstream editors to create and place compelling stories that yield relevant media coverage and content.

-Meet regularly with key account leads to solidify relationships, better understand business needs of clients, gain feedback and ensure consistent, timely work flow.

-Conduct regular media outreach and secure top tier placements across H&S portfolio of clients.

-Serve as lead media counsel to designated clients and account teams.

-Advise clients on short and long-term media relations/press strategy, set goals, manage expectations, set timelines and manage deliverables.

-Decode culture to concept, craft and create media relations briefs that generate persuasive and shareable earned coverage (e.g., editorial and social).

-Remain abreast of current events, cultural moments and trends and spot traditional, digital and social media trends – particularly as they relate to fashion, lifestyle, travel and spirits.

-Foster existing, and maintain high-touch relationships with publishing houses, editors and freelance writers to ensure ongoing media interest, maximizing client share of voice and message pull-through.

-Monitor, track and build client focused and competitive brands’ media reports using digital tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater, Talkwalker, etc…).

-Concept and develop creative paid and organic marketing communications strategies for execution across paid, owned, earned and social media platforms.

-Actively participate in and lead brainstorm sessions.

-Design and presentation abilities (e.g., PowerPoint, Keynote and Adobe Suite are your friends).

-Will be an active participant in seeking new business opportunities, the pitching process, and networking.

-Manage account financials: develop and manage budgets, fee estimates, out-of-pocket expenses, team hour allocation, billing, invoicing, internal tools, etc.

Requirements:

-Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing or a related field.

-Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of public relations experience.

-Must be a BIG thinker who loves the details!

-Must have strong writing, communications and interpersonal skills.

-Thrive in a diverse environment and contribute to overall H&S culture.

-Be a proactive and strong communicator with a problem-solving attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize programs and meet deadlines.

-Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional marketing disciplines and agencies – (e.g., paid media and advertising agencies, etc…)

-Passionate story and truth-teller, with a natural curiosity for the travel, lifestyle, fashion and experiential industry.

-Highly organized, self-starter, energetic, with a collaborative work ethic and pays meticulous attention to details.

-Manage and mentor junior team members, ensuring quality and breath of coverage.

-Excited to become a part of a fast-paced, self-starter and entrepreneurial environment.

**Special Notes** In the wake of COVID-19, all positions are currently remote. We hope to have this person work onsite in our NYC once offices resume opening (pending the safety protocols in place surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak).
