BPCM NYC is looking for an experienced Senior Account Executive to sit jointly within our Fashion PR and Sustainability departments, with a proven track record of planning and implementing PR strategies developed with clients and client leads to support the promotion of their product or brand to a desired target audience. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of previous experience working with corporate Fashion, Consumer/Lifestyle, Sustainable and/or Retail brands at a public relations agency and possess strong corporate communications skills, as well as the ability to draft internal and external brand messaging with the client and client lead.
The Senior Account Executive Responsibilities will be (but are not limited to):
-Serving as a primary day to day client contact with the proven ability to manage and drive multiple client account programs/activities and teams delivering strategic value
-Planning, developing and advising clients on integrated and measurable PR initiatives
-Advising clients on positioning and messaging, developing and/or editing brand communications to meet press-facing needs (including, but not limited to press releases, talking points, interview responses, etc.)
-Proactively pitch and secure in-depth feature editorial opportunities. Maintain continued press interest in existing products and through brand storytelling, and create ‘buzz’ around new launches/announcements
-Daily press interaction; nurture and develop strategic relationships with editors across all channels via regular communication and press appointments
-Assisting budget management
-Managing client events from ideation to execution
-Multitasking across multiple client accounts and projects under deadline, manage client timelines and budgets
-Ensuring that key milestones and projects are on track, and KPIs are met within prescribed timelines and on budget
-Displaying exceptional verbal and written communication skills
-Managing and mentoring junior/assistant support staff while reporting directly into the Managing Director and Senior Account Director and maintaining close communication with both to ensure efficient prioritization and work flow
-B.A. and 5 years PR agency experience working on publicity campaigns and corporate communications with top Fashion, Consumer/Lifestyle, Sustainable and/or Retail brands, preferred experience with sustainable and corporate clients. MUST HAVE AGENCY EXPERIENCE.
-Strong, established network of press relationships across business, trade, sustainability, and fashion/lifestyle media
-Superior press release and pitch writing, communication and presentation skills
-Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills; adept at developing rapport with clients and offering sound counsel to maintain strong working relationships
-Ability to align press initiatives with business goals of brands/clients
-Passionate about championing for DEI initiatives, both internally and externally
-Expert at maintaining ongoing relationships with members of top-tier media.
-Independent thinker with hands-on can-do, “roll up your sleeves” attitude.
