The Brand Guild is looking for an expert in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) space to join our F&B team in the role of Senior PR Manager. 

Working with our portfolio of fast-growing food brands, the Senior PR Manager should have a deep understanding and love for the world of food along with excellent writing and communication skills, and an in-depth knowledge of CPG. The ideal candidate is an action-oriented strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment, is a voracious reader and can look for the story like a journalist and the hook like a marketer.

Job requirements include 6+ years of public relations experience running both strategy and execution on PR campaigns for brands in the CPG space. Agency experience is a must; crisis communications experience a plus. 

While The Brand Guild team is currently working remotely, this position can be based in either our NYC or Washington, D.C. office. 

Responsibilities:

-Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and drive communications strategy for a range of CPG clients

- Actively engage and counsel CPG clients and client leaders to help achieve strategic business objectives and build trusted relationships

- Develop deep understanding of each client’s business including general business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers, and competitors in the marketplace

- Proactively identify angles and pitch customer, product, vertical and/or issues-based stories

- Prepare spokespeople for media interviews through the development of messaging and talking points, and in-depth media training when required

- Draft competitor analysis for clients and stay on top of industry trends trends on an ongoing basis to support communications and messaging

- Provide direction on crisis response, including overseeing team coordination and client counsel

- Use F&B insight and experience to contribute to new business efforts for key prospectsManage direct reports, including mentoring, consistently providing feedback, and conducting performance reviews 

Requirements:

- 6+ years of public relations agency experience running strategy and execution on PR campaigns for brands in the CPG space

- Strong knowledge and connection to F&B sector work including internal network and associations

- Active relationships with food and consumer/lifestyle mediaAn expert in finding and developing stories, and driving visibility -- from creating major moments to developing a drum beat of ongoing pitches

- Ability to provide essential support for press initiatives including research, writing and strategic thinking

- Confident communication and presentation skillsExcellent organizational and planning skills with a strong eye for detail

- Comprehensive understanding of media needs and media relationships

- Must be an eternal optimist who is proactive, reliable, and resourceful ability to independently manage multiple projects and clients with changing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

- Experience managing direct reports
