You will execute dynamic communication strategies and tactics for GM’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team and GM’s Inclusion Advisory Board to raise awareness of the Company’s DE&I efforts. You’ll act as a strategic partner to the key executives, managing external media interviews and internal activations, content development for posting internally/externally, and speaking opportunities. You’ll manage internal relationships with multiple business partners including Marketing, GM Brand, Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac, HR, Public Policy, VSSM, GPSC and Legal. You’ll also serve as an external spokesperson for the company.
Responsibilities:
Lead the execution of dynamic communication strategies for GM Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team and GM’s Inclusion Advisory Board to raise awareness of GM’s DE&I efforts
Lead the development and execution of a data-driven, integrated communication plan in partnership with Internal Communications, Diversity & Inclusion team and HR that engages GM employees
Lead the development of communications plans for activations with external strategic diversity partnerships - elevate the profile of GM’s DE&I efforts with these partners
Develop communications plans for Chief Diversity Officer and counsel DE&I leadership team on internal and external communications activities
Lead the development of key messages, DE&I narrative, fact sheets based on insights from the Data & Analytics team
Lead the development of an issues and crisis management scenario planCollaborate with product and brand teams on diversity media strategies to support programs including product launches and corporate brand reputation building efforts
Collaborate with GM’s diversity-focused councils within our organization including the Supplier Diversity Council, Employee Resource Group Leader Council, Disabilities Advisory Council, Minority Dealer Advisory Council, and Women Dealer Advisory Council
Partner with talent acquisition on the development of communication plans to attract and retain a diverse workforce
Partner with Data & Analytics team to integrate the company’s DE&I efforts into the team’s corporate reputation research, establish media measurement on key projects, and monitor awareness of the Company’s DE&I initiatives
Develop an audience-based strategy by assessing key stakeholders to establish appropriate communication channels and develop content to meet different needs and preferences for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion related communications
Build relationships with diversity media
Write press releases, internal stories, media pitches, reports and speechesServe as a DE&I consultant to the Communications team
Serve as an internal and external spokespersonIntegrate into larger corporate Citizenship strategies
BA in Communications or related field
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience
