About the Role

The most important skill you bring to the table: converting ideas into coverage. Wild Signal is looking for a true-blue media relations pro who carves out time to develop quality angles and put them in front of the right reporters. You’re persistent, creative, connected. You’re a hit-maker.

A strategist is also the connective tissue of a client engagement. You own relationships; you’ll drive work across earned media as well as data and content. And you know how to stitch it all together into something coherent that clients trust and internal folks high-five.

This is not an execution-only role. You’ll be expected to bring original thinking to the table: your own story angles, your own read on the data, your own instincts about what’s working and what isn’t. You’re comfortable in a pitch and equally comfortable in a spreadsheet. Soon, you’ll read GEO outputs and know what they mean for a client’s narrative. You treat every report as a strategy update, not a recap. Trust us, it’s fun.

You’ll work alongside a growing team where the org chart doesn’t gatekeep what people are allowed to build. We said it above, and we mean it: everyone here is a maker.

The Work- What You’ll Do:

  • Drive earned media results through creative story development, smart pitching, and genuine media relationships.
  • Translate Wayfinder and GEO data into plain-language strategy recommendations clients can act on (we’ll teach ya).
  • Participate in client calls, in building status recaps, and reporting — the beautiful basics.
  • Interface with clients day to day, become the person they trust and call in a pinch or for a media relations gut-check.
  • Write well and write often: pitches, bylines, briefing docs, media prep materials, etc.
  • Contribute to execution of announcements, campaigns, and ongoing deliverables across account teams.
  • Identify patterns in AI search data and connect them to PR and content strategy.
  • Build tools, artifacts, and workflows that make the work faster and smarter, for your accounts and for the team. Again, we’ll teach you how.
  • Bring junior team members up. Share what you know, name what you see, and invest in building the kind of communicators this work requires.
  • Help set the standard for how this team operates — the culture we build now is the one every future hire inherits.
REQUIREMENTS:

The Kit - What Strategists at Wild Signal Have:

  • 4–5 years of experience in PR, communications, or a related field.
  • A demonstrated track record of driving meaningful earned media results.
  • Strong client management instincts: you anticipate what’s needed before it’s asked.
  • Comfort with data — you don’t need to be a data scientist, but you should be able to read a report and know what it’s telling you.
  • Genuine fluency with AI tools, particularly Claude — you use them daily, not occasionally.
  • Exceptional writing, across formats and registers.
  • Curiosity that goes beyond earned media: you’re interested in content, SEO, GEO, the whole ecosystem, and how it works together.
  • A bias toward building — you see a gap, and you close it, even if no one asked you to.

For the Record - What This Role Isn’t:

  • A role where you execute someone else’s strategy without understanding it.
  • A place where earned media is the ceiling — we work across the full intelligence layer.
  • A company where hierarchy decides what you’re allowed to build or contribute.

Comp Range

  • $80,000–$95,000, based on location and experience.
  • Wild Signal also offers healthcare, performance-based annual bonuses, and what you need for day-to-day work and professional development.

The Standard

We work according to SignalOS, a shared operating standard that treats every person on the team as a maker, every report as a strategy update, and AI fluency as a baseline, not a differentiator. If that sounds like how you already work, you’ll fit in fast.
