HL Group is a dynamic, fast-growing, New York-based Communications, PR, and Marketing Consulting firm. The firm specializes in marketing and communications strategies across a broad spectrum of industries.
We are seeking a Manager or Senior Manager to join the Consumer/Lifestyle team, working on a client roster focusing on hospitality & travel, wine & sprits, and luxury lifestyle.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive media relations efforts, including proactive outreach to top-tier outlets, developing story angles and securing editorial features and news items.
- Build and maintain media relationships on behalf of clients and the agency through regular in-person media meetings.
- Effectively evaluate incoming media inquiries and provide strategic recommendations to the client based on knowledge of the journalist, outlet and client priorities.
- Draft press releases, pitches, and other supporting media materials as necessary.
- Assist in development and execution of communications strategies to appropriately position clients across the media landscape.
- Assist in development of annual or quarterly integrated PR plans.
- Contribute to client projects from the brainstorm/ideation phase to plan development, execution and reporting.
- Liaise and work alongside partner teams within the agency as well as client partner agencies.
- Contribute to monthly, project or event reporting and recaps across all clients.
- Report to Senior Director, with oversight from Consumer/Lifestyle team Vice President.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience on the agency or client side; deep travel, hospitality, lifestyle, or consumer experience. Luxury experience a plus.
- Strong media relationships across categories including luxury lifestyle, hospitality, wine, etc., a must as well as the ability to network and foster new media relationships on an ongoing basis.
- Strong writing, interpersonal, networking, and verbal communications skills.
-Project management experience a plus, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
-1-2 years of management experience, including the ability to manage at least 1-2 junior staff across various accounts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Cision.
- Experience with broadcast booking and relationships with industry influencers a plus.
