We are seeking a PR Account Manager or Senior Account Manager to join our PR team and lead media relations for clients across the technology sector.

About the Role

This is a PR-focused, client-facing role for someone who understands how to translate business milestones into meaningful media coverage.

You will lead a portfolio of clients across B2B tech and SaaS, owning PR strategy, media relations, and client communications from end to end. You will work closely with founders and executives to position them effectively in the market and drive consistent, high-quality earned media results.

This role is ideal for someone with strong media instincts, an existing network of journalist relationships, and experience delivering results around funding announcements, product launches, and company milestones.

This is a remote role, ideally based in the Greater Toronto Area, with occasional in-person collaboration.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Account Leadership and Strategy
    • Serve as the primary PR lead across multiple client accounts.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with founders, executives, and marketing teams.
    • Develop and execute strategic PR plans aligned with client business goals.
    • Lead client meetings, reporting, and ongoing communications.
    • Identify proactive opportunities to increase visibility and strengthen positioning.
  • Media Relations and Earned Media
    • Lead media outreach with a focus on technology and business publications.
    • Pitch and secure top-tier media coverage across North America.
    • Drive coverage around funding announcements, product launches, and key company milestones.
    • Identify and secure strategic opportunities for speaking engagements and industry awards to elevate client visibility and thought leadership.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and producers.
    • Develop compelling story angles and news hooks that resonate with media.
    • Monitor, analyze, and report on media performance and results.
  • Content and Communications
    • Write and edit high-quality PR materials, including press releases, media pitches, thought leadership articles, and award submissions.
    • Develop key messaging and positioning documents.
    • Support executive visibility through media opportunities and commentary.
    • Collaborate with internal marketing team members on integrated campaigns.
  • Team Leadership and Operations
    • Delegate and oversee work across junior team members.
    • Provide mentorship, feedback, and guidance to support team development.
    • Ensure quality and consistency across all client deliverables.
    • Manage timelines, workflows, and internal coordination.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 5 to 8+ years of public relations experience, with agency experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of securing meaningful earned tech and business media coverage.
  • Strong relationships with technology and business journalists.
  • Experience leading PR initiatives around funding announcements, product launches, and company milestones.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence leading client conversations.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
  • Experience mentoring or managing junior team members is an asset.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and solutions-oriented.
  • Based in or near the Greater Toronto Area and available during Eastern Time business hours.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $75,000 to $100,000 CAD, commensurate with experience and level.
