DESCRIPTION:

The Press Room is seeking an Assistant Press Agent to join our team starting in June 2026.

Assistant Press Agents will work alongside The Press Room colleagues for 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday. During this time, Assistant Press Agents will collaborate with team members across the company to gain hands-on experience and insight into a range of publicity and communications strategies.

Daily responsibilities will vary, but may include: research, drafting and proofreading materials, maintaining press lists, supporting outreach tracking, attending strategy meetings, assisting with event planning, managing event RSVPs, coordinating interview logistics, and compiling press coverage.

As part of the team, Assistant Press Agents will also join bi-weekly full-staff meetings and may have the opportunity to support select off-site events with Broadway industry partners, as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day publicity execution across multiple clients.
  • Build and maintain press lists; track outreach and RSVPs.
  • Draft and proof materials (pitches, press releases, media alerts, talking points).
  • Coordinate interview schedules, press nights, and media logistics.
  • Regularly monitor coverage, compile press clips, and update reporting documents.
  • Manage asset delivery (photos, links, video, press kits) and maintain shared files.
  • Provide on-site support for openings, events, and photo calls (as needed).
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Highly organized, detail-obsessed, and calm under deadline.
  • Strong writer and proofreader with a sharp email voice.
  • Comfortable juggling multiple projects and communicating clearly.
  • Discreet, professional, and collaborative.
  • Interest in theatre/live entertainment a plus (and stamina required).

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $45,000–$47,000
  • Health insurance provided (details shared during the process)
