About the Role

Airtasker is looking for a seasoned PR consultant to support Airtasker US on a freelance retainer basis (non-exclusive).

This is not a full-time role and not a “build-from-scratch” PR setup. Airtasker US already has an established PR foundation in place. This role is about elevation, momentum, and consistently landing meaningful earned media as we scale in the U.S.

Airtasker is a local services marketplace that helps people get anything done - from home services to creative, business, and professional support.

Responsibilites

• Leading U.S. media relations across consumer, business, and tech.
• Proactively pitching strong story angles tied to culture, trends, seasonality, data, and timely news moments.
• Supporting press materials as needed (angles, releases, briefing docs, talking points).
• Weekly check-ins and clear reporting on pitches, coverage, and insights.

• Have 7–12+ years of media relations experience (agency and/or in-house).
• Already operate as an independent consultant or senior freelancer.
•  Have an established network across top-tier, mid-tier, and relevant national outlets.
• Have a proven track record securing features, interviews, commentary, podcasts, and broadcast.
•  Bring strong editorial judgment and sharp pitching instincts- Have experience with tech, marketplace, or high-growth brands.
•  Are based in LA or NYC (preferred), with a national reach.
