Location:

Field:
PR/Communications
Experience:
7-9 year(s)
Basis:
Full-time
DESCRIPTION:

As a Senior Strategist at Hue & Cry, you will play a central role in shaping the strategic thinking behind our brand, PR, and activation work across food, drink, and travel.

You will turn insight into clear direction, help define the real problems brands need to solve, and guide ideas that make our clients impossible to ignore. You will also be a core member of the Leadership Team, contributing to agency direction and ways of working.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic development across key client accounts, from brief interrogation to final recommendation.
  • Generate strong, evidence-based insights rooted in audience behaviour and cultural relevance.
  • Develop integrated strategies that connect brand positioning with creative, PR, social, digital, and experiential ideas.
  • Write clear, inspiring briefs that give creative teams confidence and focus.
  • Shape how ideas are activated across channels, with a strong understanding of earned, social, and digital ecosystems.
  • Partner closely with PR, creative, and account teams to ensure strategy is felt in the work, not just written down.
  • Support new business through pitch thinking, chemistry meetings, and early-stage strategy.
  • Contribute to leadership discussions, helping shape the future direction of the agency.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 7+ years’ experience in strategy, planning, or brand roles within a creative, PR, or integrated agency.
  • Strong experience in social and digital strategy, with a clear understanding of channel behaviour.
  • Proven ability to turn insight, data, and cultural signals into a clear strategic direction.
  • Confidence using insight tools such as social listening, trend platforms, and quantitative data.
  • Experience collaborating closely with Creative and PR teams and shaping earned first thinking.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills, with a bias towards clarity over complexity.
  • Comfort leading workshops, brainstorms, and collaborative sessions.
  • Curiosity about culture, people, and consumer behaviour.

Category experience in food, drink, or travel is a bonus, but not essential. What matters most is strategic instinct, cultural curiosity, and a desire to create work that genuinely stands out.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary: We’ll equip you with the tech you need to succeed and a competitive salary. After your probation, you will also enjoy Vitality membership and EAP, and we are enrolled with the Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Hybrid working: Our office is based in Holborn, and we operate a 2-day-a-week work-from-home policy. We believe in face-time with our clients, so travel is often an exciting part of the job, and we have offices in NYC & LDN.
  • Generous holiday: Statutory holidays are great, but we also close the office over the New Year period, give you your birthday as an extra holiday day, and increase your extra holidays based on length of service.
  • Team culture: Did you know we have a bar in our office? Monthly Thirsty Thursdays happen during our company meetings, and we have dedicated DEI, B Corp, and social committees.
