About the job:

- Act as primary media contact, play key role in developing and implementing media strategies. Be creative and strategic in the development of programs and pitch angles designed to garner media attention

- Advanced knowledge of how to use social media platforms and influencers to drive brand awareness and engagement.

- Secure high-profile coverage with national business and general lifestyle, food, and pop culture media outlets including, but not limited to, Departures, Vogue, GQ, Bloomberg, Mashable, Food & Wine, Delish, Food Network Magazine! News, People, US Weekly, USA Today, The Today Show, Good Morning America

- Work with media including proactive pitching and relationship managementBe a hands-on team player adding value, sharing creative ideas, and leveraging media attention as appropriateDevelop strategic recommendations with an eye on earned media goalsUncover, explore and learn about new tools and techniques important to conducting effective media outreach

- Active participant in networking and seeking new business opportunities, including the pitching process, in relation to structured media campaignsConfidence in working with and accompanying clients and celebrity spokespeople to media interviews, manage their appearances and contribute appropriately

- Conduct satellite media tours and editorial desk side briefings between clients and journalists in key media markets; knowledge of TV, radio, and print outlets as well as some knowledge about paid media costsDrive effective implementation of projects, identify appropriate resources, and delegate work appropriately.

- Manage people and projects, deliver highest quality work on time and on budget, and provide timely progress reports, anticipating issues 

- Develop programs and collaborate effectively.

- Use metrics and analytics to build business case, provide insight and counsel to clients and account teamsIdentifying trends within the media landscape, sharing them team and recommending pivot strategies for clients based on these trends

Requirements:

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field

- Four plus years of experience in public relations agency or similar position

- Ability to work in multi-faceted, fast paced environment

- Current experience pitching top-tier national consumer mediaEvidence of contacts at key national media outlets
