Gallery PR is a new-age boutique cannabis, fashion, and lifestyle PR agency with offices in New York City and Los Angeles. We are seeking a full-time Event Director to work from our Los Angeles to recommend, plan, manage and execute year-round client events that support PR.
This is a full-time position offering competitive salary commensurate with your experience, plus health insurance. The right candidate for this position will have the opportunity to earn equity in the firm.
General Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent, professional client experience and work cross-functionally with our PR teams in New York.
- Provide support for Founder and other company executives.
- Responsible for planning events and implementation of strategic vision that supports the client's PR/marketing campaigns and product launches.
- Must be highly creative and bring a fresh, new age approach to producing high-concept events that don't just meet expectations, but set new standards.
- Serve as primary liaison and point of contact for all events.
- Proactively identify and maintain relationships within the fashion, cannabis, lifestyle, and entertainment industry and appropriate event vendors.
- Develop yearly event calendar and manage all benchmarks.
- Direct and administer all event management operations including, but not limited to, revenue maximization initiatives, communication plans, budgeting, venue selection, staffing, event setup and breakdowns, and vendor management.
- Foster relationships and communication between PR teams and sister agencies.
- Proactively identify and maintain relationships within the fashion, cannabis, lifestyle, and entertainment industry and appropriate event vendors.
- Cultivate partnerships, outreach strategy and develop content to secure press for sponsored client events.
- Generate event recap reports in collaboration with PR teams to events are documented and ROI is communicated to clients in a timely manner.
- Attends, evaluates and communicates information on competitive events.
- Supports administrative tasks as necessary, including writing purchase orders, tracking expenses, following up with vendors, and compiling seasonal forecasts.
Influencer/VIP Relations:
- Further supports events by securing RSVP's and attendance from LA/NY-based influencers and celebrity talent.
- Knows how to cater to VIP/celebrity talent without overstepping and respecting talent's privacy.
The Ideal Candidate:
- 3-5 years relevant working experience in an agency setting.
- You have strong management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Thinks critically & calmly in high pressure situations.
- You can offer a keen understanding and relevance in industry-related matters and servicing a variety of category clients, from cannabis brands and corporate executives, to fashion designers, and celebrities.
- Must have previous experience with executing a range of PR events (press previews, pop-ups, PR stunts, panels, mixers, sponsored events)
- You have a proven track record for consistently producing exceptional media-facing and consumer-facing events and press previews.
