An Art Advisory firm specializing in Contemporary artwork is seeking an intern for the remainder of 2019 (though seasonal is also acceptable). The candidate should be detail-oriented and based in New York or Los Angeles. The position will be part-time with the opportunity for growth, though the minimum requirement is 2 days/week beginning as soon as possible. There is also more opportunity in the summer, especially July, for more days/week with increased benefits. This internship is designed to provide students and/or prospective art advisors with exposure to the contemporary art world.
The candidate will be primarily responsible for the administrative tasks of the firm, such as organizing and databasing, researching artworks and preparing research documents, assisting in scheduling, preparing materials for art fairs and major auctions.
The candidate should be a student, graduate, or graduate student. Art History/Fine Art/Museum studies is preferable. The candidate must have access to a computer and be fluent in Pages/Numbers/MS Office. There will be weekly meetings, however, the candidate should be comfortable working independently from home. The candidate must have an extreme attention to detail and an eagerness to learn. The candidate will be rapidly exposed to all aspects of art advisory.
