JOB SUMMARY  
The Senior Account Manager is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day relationship with clients and for developing and implementing communications strategies and press campaigns. Serving as a primary point of contact for clients and the press, the Senior Account Manager oversees the approval processes on their assigned accounts, drafts written materials, pitches to journalists, project manages the running of campaigns and secures quality press coverage to ensure successful outcomes. To achieve the desired results, the Senior Account Manager will oversee any Account Executive and Account Coordinator on their relevant accounts while also reporting to an Account Director and/or Director to ensure the campaign strategies and goals are moving forward in a strategic and timely manner.  
JOB OVERVIEW 
Client Campaigns
- Develops and implements communications strategies, working creatively and efficiently to deliver maximum impact and positive messaging for their campaigns with limited input from Account Directors and/or Directors
 
- Manages the progress of active campaigns, working to successfully achieve objectives 
 
- Acts as the day-to-day point of contact on accounts and establishes a strong relationship with clients, regularly communicating progress and becoming as a trusted thought partner
 
- Proactively shares regular feedback of any major campaign or client developments with their Director and with the wider team/office, offering solutions and insights as needed
 
- Troubleshoots challenges and actively identifies solutions to problems – adjusting campaign directions, pivoting strategies, and incorporating more integrated approaches to achieve results – with limited input from Account Directors and/or Directors
 
- Manages team members on assigned accounts ensuring there is always strong inter-team communication and meets regularly with members of the team to set goals and monitor progress of client campaigns
 
- Actively builds an extensive network of journalists across specialties and regions and regularly meets with key writers and editors to pitch and exchange information
 
- Actively keeps up to date with media outlets and industry trends so that all campaigns and pitches are as effective as possible
 
- Ensures successful cross-company pitches to key target journalists through proper and timely coordination of information across the teams and offices
 
- Drafts and oversees the issuing of press releases, strategy documents and any written materials for clients, and liaises with them on the approval process
 
- Coordinates and supervises press meetings and client events, including interviews, photocalls, press previews, launches and other activations
 
- Organizes and successfully leads press trips and events, including drafting guest lists and overseeing any logistics
 
- Briefs clients as required before media and social events; drafts speeches/speaking notes as needed 
 
- Oversees implementation of client social media campaigns for the New York office; communicating with the global teams to ensure consistency of messaging
 
- Ensures administrative tasks and materials produced are done so at the highest standard, keeping client documents such as campaign trackers, written reports, press kits, etc. regularly updated  
 
New & Existing Business
- Ensures clients’ needs are met and that accounts are retained and continually developed
 
- Networks to identify potential new business leads and attends non-client events as a representative of the company and our work 
 
- Joins new business conversations and contributes to the development of new client proposals
 
- Regularly shares industry intel with the wider Senior Leadership and Management Teams with a view to cultivating new business opportunities     
 
Office / Team Responsibilities
- Acts as an ambassador for the Company and a role model for their peers including assisting with the training of their peers and effectively managing Account Executives and Junior Account Executives as relevant
 
- Actively contributes ideas and knowledge-sharing in staff meetings and by email, such as relevant industry intel or coverage, circulating to teams and across the offices as appropriate, and providing updates for the company database
 
- Attends client and industry events in an official capacity to help build out their networks and develop their knowledge of the sector
 
- Communicating with other teams/offices to ensure joined-up Company communication
 
- Assumes responsibility for the implementation of certain office processes (e.g., running monthly journalist meetings, drafting cultural mailers, etc.), aiding efficiency and ways of working across the office and wider company
 
- Performs any other task as required by the CEO and wider Senior Leadership Team    
 
 
    Qualifications 
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree with demonstrated experience of 4+ years leading integrated communications campaigns either in-house, or in an agency setting
 
- Passion for the important role arts and culture play in enriching our lives
 
- Strong knowledge of the media and digital communications landscape
 
- Ability to adapt and excel in an agile environment, working on multiple clients and internal projects in tandem
 
- Meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, written and spoken
 
- Collaborative team player with a willingness and enthusiasm to learn
 
- An educational background in contemporary art history, journalism and/or marketing and communications would be an asset
