The Role:

Moxie is hiring a Senior Media Relations Specialist to support several account teams in the development and execution of PR strategies across a mix of consumer clients. Successful candidates will have 5 - 8 years of media relations experience, excellent writing skills, an insatiable passion for pitching, and an ever-expanding network of media contacts. This position will be based in either Moxie’s NY office (Flatiron District, Manhattan) or LA office (Culver City), where team members work in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead proactive media outreach across multiple accounts and consistently secure high-quality media coverage
  • Own and deepen media relationships, with regular outreach to key journalists and outlets
  • Contribute to client strategy by identifying media opportunities, generating pitch angles, and aligning them with trends and cultural moments
  • Draft pitches and press materials
  • Vet inbound media requests and staff interviews, as needed
  • Serve as a key contributor during weekly client calls, providing timely updates on outreach and suggesting new iterations
  • Oversee media lists, ensuring the most appropriate targets are included
  • Share media relations best practices and insights from journalist sources across the agency
  • Participate in internal and client brainstorming sessions

Compensation:

The expected salary range for this role is $100K - $125K annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications:

  • 5 - 8 years of success in securing media coverage across consumer / lifestyle, consumer tech and business press
  • Strong media relationships with relevant reporters, editors, and producers across traditional and emerging media (podcasts, Substack / newsletters, etc.)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for various media verticals
  • A collaborative mindset, passion for continuous learning, and genuine interest in knowledge sharing across the team
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven with the ability to stay organized and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to balance media execution with strategic input and client communication
  • Experience working across multiple consumer brands and industries simultaneously is a plus
  • Experience working with affiliate marketing teams is a plus, but not required
