We are seeking an Assistant Account Executive to join our Los Angeles PR team. REQUIREMENTS:
  • Possess excellent communication and writing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with meticulous attention to detail, with exceptional organizational, prioritization and follow-through skills
  • The ability to support press trip planning, booking flights, itinerary coordination etc.
  • Able to multi-task to expectations of full team
  • Able to contribute original ideas on how to best leverage client news and information
  • The ability and desire to develop media relations with some media contacts (preferably travel and consumer) plus an extensive knowledge of today’s media marketplace
  • BA or BS in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field preferred
  • Four-year undergraduate college/university degree
  • 1-2 years PR experience (agency and travel, lifestyle, and/or real estate preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and industry tools such as Muck Rack

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring news coverage of clients and travel industry as a whole
  • Updating press kits and materials as needed by team/client
  • Assisting with the drafting and distribution of press releases, e-blasts, pitches, social media posts (if applicable) and reports
  • Assembling media briefing documents/presentations as required for client visits and media appointments.
  • Compiling error-free weekly and monthly reports as required, including detailed information on account activity
  • Drafting and executing personalized pitches for media, to ensure a robust pipeline of media coverage for each account
  • Staying proactive and anticipatory to client needs
  • Presenting new opportunities to team for implementation; participation in creative ideation
  • Taking a more active role in client communication, with the desire to contribute to and participate in client calls or presentations
  • Taking comprehensive notes from client meetings in order to compile error-free recap notes and next steps
  • Ongoing maintenance of both internal and distribution lists from Muck Rack for press release distribution and media outreach
  • Responding to media inquiries and image requests as required
  • Pitching client stories to media both proactively and reactively
  • Assist with coordination of group and individual press trips – including but not limited to researching travel schedules, drafting budget estimates for approval, assembling trip kits and reproducing press kits
  • Event planning - including but not limited to maintaining RSVP lists, creating media briefing books, media profiles, gathering materials and assembling gift bags and collateral, press kit assembly, working at the event, and running errands for the event
  • Assisting account teams with necessary errands such as collecting magazines, scanning press clips and topic research
  • Answering agency phone line & directing calls to appropriate team members in a professional manner
  • Develop an understanding of various research methods; coordinate internal and external resources in implementing research projects
  • Solid knowledge of the digital media landscape, with the creativity to implement and present ideas and suggestions to client teams

Salary commensurate with experience, ranging from $50,000-$55,000.
