The Last Agency (TLA) is looking for an enthusiastic, high-performing Public Relations Account Manager to join and contribute to our growing organization. We’re looking for a collaborative, media-savvy professional that has a love for storytelling, cultural insight and strategic thinking - someone eager to grow with a dynamic, boutique agency.
Based in New York with a global footprint, TLA is a communications agency working across the luxury design, art, hospitality and lifestyle sectors. The Account Manager will play a key role in shaping and executing media and brand strategies for our diverse roster of clients.
In this position, you’ll not only help drive impactful campaigns but also support the growth of junior team members and contribute to the evolution of the agency’s profile and reputation.
The ideal candidate will likely have 4-6 years PR agency experience.
Starting Salary Range: $76,000 - $105,000
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage overall public relations, media and brand strategy efforts across a range of client accounts
- Bring a positive attitude to a high-energy team that consistently shows up and delivers
- Ask questions, contribute new ideas, engage with colleagues, clients and partners, and make your voice heard
- Manage and mentor junior team members, offering guidance and supporting their professional growth
- Demonstrate the ability to rally the team for both internal and client-focused initiatives
- Maintain strong client communication, keeping them informed on your work and external developments that may impact their business
- Serve as team lead and primary point of contact for select client accounts
- Liaise with clients by leading meetings and calls, and assisting with agendas as needed
- Develop and present narrative frameworks, strategy documents, proposals and new business materials
- Pitch and secure media coverage across print, digital, podcast and broadcast platforms
- Contribute creative ideas and execute them across media, brand-building, content, social and other relevant channels
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, media, key partners and industry professionals
- Write and develop press releases, briefing materials, pitches, external communications and brand partnership opportunities
- Proactively identify ways to grow client accounts, whether by realigning strategy to evolving business goals or introducing new opportunities
- Manage and support the creation of monthly, project-based and annual reporting
- In collaboration with junior team members, manage media databases (e.g., Muck Rack, Launchmetrics), daily media coverage grids, and maintain accurate, up-to-date media and contact lists
- Develop event strategies and oversee the coordination of guest lists, logistics and execution of client events throughout the year
- Assist with internal agency initiatives, including organizational support and efforts to build brand awareness
- 4 - 6 years' experience in communications-related position
- Interest in all things media - newspapers, magazines, digital and social content
- Interest in and knowledge of the arts, architecture, design, lifestyle, fashion and/or similar fields
- Excellent pitching and writing skills to draft press materials, creative brainstorming, event planning and execution through success stories
- Understanding of media landscape and existing editor relationships
- Excellent media list building capabilities
- Strong client service mindset with the ability to anticipate needs and communicate effectively
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Collaborative team player who brings a positive, proactive approach to problem-solving
