DESCRIPTION:

No. 29 is seeking an Associate Account Executive to support our lifestyle and innovation clients. In this role, you will play a vital role in supporting account management through various tasks, including account administration, database maintenance, media list creation and upkeep, research, pitching, and ideation. You will also proactively seek out and add new contacts to expand our media lists.

This position requires a candidate who can play a significant role in media coverage and thought leadership. You will be responsible for securing new opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with media outlets, and ensuring successful media placements for our clients. As a member of a collaborative team, you will be expected to constantly brainstorm new creative strategies to drive compelling pitches.

In this role, your contributions are crucial in maintaining a high level of service for our clients.

What You'll Do

  • Support your accounts by developing and maintaining strong relationships through clear communication and updates. Review agendas, and prepare and review regular PR reports, ensuring that it is in "client-ready" form before passing it on to the Director.
  • Understand client goals and contribute to the development of strategic PR plans and campaigns. Work with team members to develop new creative strategies on a regular basis in order to land meaningful client coverage.
  • Maintain pre-existing and develop new relationships with journalists and influencers and stakeholders in media, talent and other areas of importance for the agency and clients.
  • Craft compelling pitches, regularly pursue and secure new opportunities, media placements and relationships that will benefit clients.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating with internal teams, contributing to client calls, and ensuring deadlines and expectations are met while representing the agency positively.
  • Be proactive to ensure accounts are run well through administrative excellence. Make sure balls don’t get dropped, from scheduling to inventory management to responding to client emails.
  • Support Account Coordinators by providing feedback and mentorship and reviewing their work.

Who You Are

  • You’re a PR professional with foundational experience, capable of completing basic tasks independently.
  • You’ve worked within an agency setting and have a proven track record of successfully securing coverage.
  • You have exceptional writing skills and the ability to craft compelling pitches.
  • You excel in an evolving environment by remaining open to new perspectives, approaches, procedures, and technology.
  • You’re able to plan and organize your work efficiently while juggling multiple projects and once, managing your time to focus on what matters most.
  • You stay ahead of stories happening in the media about not only our clients and competitors, but the broader landscape so you can act as a subject matter expert and guide others on best practices.
  • You identify what needs to be done without prompting, and you take proactive steps to address challenges and opportunities.
  • Through empathy, you're able to foster compassion, awareness, and respect for team members and clients.
  • You excel at listening to clients and understanding their needs.
  • You recognize the pressures they face and come alongside them as a partner in the work.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least one full year of PR internship experience, plus 2-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in copywriting
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver results
  • Must be based in NYC

Position Details

This is a full-time position based in our New York City office, with a hybrid work setting (three days in the office per week). Travel may be required; previous travel for our clients includes Los Angeles, Mexico City, Ghana, Iceland, Vancouver, Copenhagen and Paris.
