The Museum of Modern Art’s 2017 Film Benefit, presented by CHANEL, honored Academy Award–winning actress Julianne Moore for her outstanding contributions to the industry. The gala featured a tribute to the actress from Elizabeth Banks, Todd Haynes and Kristen Stewart, along with pre-recorded well-wishes from Alex Baldwin and Billy Eichner. Rajendra Roy, The Celeste Bartos Chief Curator of Film at MoMA, introduced Ms. Moore, who said: “I believe that’s why we watch movies. It acknowledges our humanity, who we are, and that we’re really alive.” The evening was closed with a performance by Lauryn Hill. The event raised over $1.2 million.
