The Whitney's annual Spring Gala and awards ceremony raised a total of $5.1 million dollars for the institution. The night's top honor for Best Architect, ultimately went to Neil G. Bluhm, a Whitney trustee and the businessman and developer for the Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, Illinois. Attendees included Katie Holmes, Alek Wek, Nina Garcia, Lauren Bush Lauren and David Lauren, Maria Giulia Maramotti, Jeff Koons, and Larry Bell.
