Art enthusiasts and Miami influencers gathered for the latest installment of Alexo Wandael ITALIANY at The James Royal Palm Hotel, coinciding with the Art Basel Miami Beach festival. The exhibition is in collaboration with Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Italy’s No. 1 premium beer as the first part of the brand’s two-year Storie di Stile campaign that spotlights stories of talented Italians in the United States and their impact on style and culture.
ITALIANY is a visual celebration of influential Italians in the United States, manifested through a series of bold black-and-white portraits. It was first launched in New York this fall with portraits of Italian Americans living in New York. The Miami installment features the unique culture and style of Italian Americans in Miami. Guests including Martina Borgomanero Basabe & Fabian Basabe, Casa Tua hotelier Miky Grendene, hospitality icon Nicola Siervo, Wolfsonian Museum curator Silvia Barisione, artist and gallery owner Alex Turco, and photographer Luca Artioli joined Alexo Wandael for the launch as everyone enjoyed refreshing glasses of Peroni Nastro Azzurro.
ITALIANY will be on display until Dec. 17 at The James Royal Palm Hotel in Miami’s South Beach area. The exhibition then travels to its third and final city Los Angeles, where Wandael will add additional profiles of Italians. ITALIANY will be completed with a book entitled ‘Italiany.us’ and will be a collection of all the portraits from each exhibition.
