Marking a significant milestone, Canali celebrated its 90th anniversary with an unforgettable evening at New York City’s Glass House, inviting guests to partake in a journey that respects its rich past while eagerly looking towards a promising future.
Throughout the evening, guests experienced the convergence of fashion, art, and technology, further enhanced by exquisite Italian culinary delights and a DJ set by Amrit, which provided a vibrant atmosphere that celebrated Canali's past and its forward-looking vision. The swan “a waterproof animal” and reinterpretation of Canali’s original logo which nods to the brands heritage and iconic product - the raincoat, was seen in design elements throughout the night.
The event showcased an exclusive art exhibition, a collaboration with NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, famed as Italy’s largest art school. This partnership involved NABA students who created two unique artistic interpretations–sculptural installations using the anniversary fabrics and collection items, and a digital AI generated video narrative, titled "Canali Horizons: A Journey from Heritage to Tomorrow,". These works explored Canali's past, present, and future, using themes of dwelling, temporality, and landscape, intertwining Canali's tradition with futuristic visions.
Select VIP attendees were dressed in Canali’s Anniversary Capsule Collection, which echoes the brand’s foundational ethos of combining elegance with modern functionality. The collection plays with the two iconic garments of the brand, the overcoat and the suit interpreting and combining them through contemporary lenses, infusing them with modern-day versatility and technological advancements, and is available for purchase now in Canali locations worldwide.
This grand event in New York plays part in a larger series of global celebrations that begin in Milan and will travel to Beijing and Mumbai imagined not only to commemorate 90 years of success but also set the stage for the next era of Canali, promising continued innovation in the world of luxury Made in Italy menswear.
