ArtLife Gallery, Avery Andon and curator Anna Valverde presented Hap Tivey’s newest exhibit of Helios in Miami, Florida.
The exhibition is titled after the artist’s latest body of work and showcases six new works from the Helios series, as well as a genesis piece titled Icarus, 2019. This is the commercial debut of the Helios works, following the institutional presentation of Helios I, 2021 at LACMA’s Light Space Surface exhibition in 2023. The Helios body of work, named for the sun god of the Greek Pantheon, originated in 2020 and consists of moving-image wall works, each with a unique sequence of shifting light that vary in duration, intensity and value. The changes in color and light are carefully composed by the artist, occurring in the background and within the glowing circle, or sun shape, at the center of the work.
Founded in 2015 by veteran art dealer and artist manager Avery Andon, ArtLife showcases some of the most sought after blue-chip, established and emerging artists, ArtLife has pioneered a non-traditional approach to exhibiting art, welcoming both seasoned and aspiring collectors to immerse themselves in the seemingly elusive world of Contemporary Art.
Attendees at the event included Avery Andon, Louis Birdman, Randall Emmett and others. The exhibition will be on display at Art Life in Miami, Florida for the next month.
