In celebration of International Day of the Girl, today Glamour’s The Girl Project hosted "A Brighter Future: A Global Conversation on Girls’ Education," a real-time, digital global conversation with adolescent girls around the world. Using Skype technology, girls in Washington, D.C., Jordan, Peru, Tanzania, and the United Kingdom spoke with one another about the challenges they have faced and potentially overcome in attaining an education. First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama, actress and activist Yara Shahidi, and Glamour editor-in-chief Cindi Leive participated in the conversation live from the Newseum in D.C. Actress and activist Rowan Blanchard provided opening remarks and singer Madison Beer performed.
