Last weekend marked the debut of PINKNIC, and welcomed 9,500 wine, food and music lovers to one of New York’s most beloved destinations – Governors Island. The highly anticipated event was the first to be hosted on the island’s Play Lawn, and offered unobstructed views of Manhattan’s most treasured landmarks and extraordinary city skyline. From the glass to the grounds, the sprawling Play Lawn was bathed entirely in pink – including a spectacular display of over 2,000 specially designed rosé-hued picnic blankets, “Les Parasols” pavilion and the guests themselves, who adhered to the festival’s dress code of “pink and white.” Dressed in their finest picnic attire, guests noshed on gourmet picnic baskets designed by Chef Chris Santos, and enjoyed an exclusive lineup of live performances by celebrated international and local musicians.
