The Female Design Council and BAS Stone co-hosted an intimate dinner honoring women in design. The dinner took place in BAS' brand new stoneyard in Long Island City, a soaring space surrounded by exquisite slabs of pink quartz, limestone, blue agate, Italian marble and more, and featured a stone-inspired tablescape created by chef Romilly Newman. BAS Stone is one of the few women-led companies in the male-dominated world of stone and marble, and a proud supporter of the Female Design Council.
The cohosts for the evening were BAS Stone (Creative Director Katibelle Sharkey) and the Female Design Council (Founder Lora Appleton and Director Angharad Coates). Attendees included editors Hannah Martin of Architectural Digest and William Hanley of Dwell, landscape designer Sara Zewde of Studio Zewde, interior designer Delia Kenza, artists Cheryl Riley and Maayan Zilberman, curators Laura Young of design gallery The Future Perfect, Stephanie Beamer of design gallery Egg Collective, and Alexandra Cunningham Cameron of the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum. FDC Board Members in attendance included Stephanie Beamer of Egg Collective, Estelle Bailey of Noah, and Emilia Vincent of Studio V.
