Camille Gallogly Bacon and Daria Simone Harper hosted a dinner and after-party at Brooklyn’s Lula Mae to celebrate the launch of their newly-founded publication, Jupiter Magazine.
Jupiter is a new quarterly arts and culture publication co-founded and co-edited by Bacon and Harper. Its launch marks a radical and restorative departure from editorial norms, creating a new space for art criticism sitting at the intersection of political consciousness, spiritual awareness, and creative healing. The inaugural issue includes a distinguished lineup of writers: Akwaeke Emezi, J Wortham, Rianna Jade Parker, Joshua Segun-Lean and Diallo Simon-Ponte.
Friends and community toasted Jupiter at Lula Mae in Clinton Hill, led by chef Dan San. Guests enjoyed a menu filled with savory delights including Lort Cha noodles, fried chicken and grilled Yu Choy. Following dinner, the festivities continued as Amarie Gipson took over the turntables, sending guests into a late night dance party.
