Yola Mezcal and Gabriela Hearst hosted a beautiful holiday soirée at The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel. Taking place at Café Carlyle, this special intimate event was hosted in support of the children’s emergency fund from Save the Children. Guests sipped Yola Mezcal cocktails, including the Yola Martini and Yola Verde, and enjoyed surprise live performances by musical guests Monika, Marion Raw, Cat Power, Lykke Li, Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt. The entire evening was emceed by podcast host, Sam Fragoso.
The night began with Yola Jimenez, co-founder of Yola Mezcal, speaking on her mission to empower women in her hometown, Oaxaca, and honoring the mezcal producers who are at the helm of the company.
Mark Ronson was on lead guitar all evening, Cat Power sang Ella Fitzgerald’s rendition of Georgia on My Mind, after admitting to sneaking into Cafe Carlyle when she was 20 to hear Ella sound check that exact song.
Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt performed their Golden Globe nominated song Ken from the Barbie Movie, while crowds cheered and sang along.
Lykke Li closed the evening with emotional paired back performances of her own music, including I Follow Rivers, closing the evening and bringing guests to their feet to dance along.
Gabriela Hearst took to the stage to inform all guests that sales from December will benefit the Children’s Emergency Fund, along with Yola Jiminez and Gina Correll Aglietti who confirmed Yola Mezcal - an ultra-premium sipping mezcal refined over decades, expertly crafted with a delicate and rich taste - will also provide donations throughout December. Traditionally reserved for special occasions, Yola’s newest expression is an elegant, full-bodied Mezcal de Pechuga. Made for milestones and memories, this mezcal celebrates sharing small moments with your closest loved ones.
The party was full of the performer’s friends and family including: Katie Couric, Sam Fragoso, Tremaine Emory, Alex Tieghi-Walker, Justin Theroux, Dustin Yellin, Austin Hearst, Simon Rex, James Dylan, Brooke Garber Neidich, Grace and Mamie Gummer.
