Lucy Yeomans - Founder of DREST and former editor-in-chief of Harper's Bazaar / NET-A-PORTER - and singer-songwriter Sunny Ozell hosted an intimate celebration for Sir Patrick Stewart and the launch of his new book, 'Making It So: A Memoir' at 1 Hotel Mayfair. Sir Patrick was also presented with a new portrait by artist, Jason Brooks, which was unveiled with theatrical flourish by none other than Sir Derek Jacobi.
Sir Patrick was rather overwhelmed by the new portrait - I personally couldn't believe it wasn’t a photograph, it so captured the twinkle in his eye - which will find its home in the National Portrait Gallery, surrounded by true friends and people he has worked with, including his Lady Macbeth (Kate Fleetwood) and his Cleopatra (Dame Harriet Walter).
Other guests included Zoe Wanamaker, Gawn Grainger, Richard Clifford, Alan Yentob, Guy Paul, Kim Hersov, the Design Museum's Tim Marlow, Lady Susie Sainsbury etc.
Everyone raised a glass to the success of the new book whilst looking over a rather damp Piccadilly from the hotel's Dover Terrace Suite.
