The Kering Foundation celebrates 15 years with its second annual Caring for Women Dinner to benefit three organizations: Malala Fund, National Network to End Domestic Violence (nnedv), and New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault.
In an auction led by the legendary Lydia Fenet, the event raised over $3 million for NGOs addressing violence against women and children. Lots included items from Kering, Gucci, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Brioni, Pomellato, Ginori 1735, and others, including one-of-a-kind fashion experiences and original artworks from Cindy Sherman, Wangechi Mutu, and Emily Yang (pplpleasr).
François-Henri Pinault said: "The ways we address violence against women and children are often fragmented and siloed. By bridging these efforts, we will accelerate change toward a world free of gender-based violence. That's why I am proud to announce that the Kering Foundation is deepening and expanding its work and increasing its funding to break the cycle of violence from childhood into adulthood."
Guests enjoyed a dinner from Mexican-born chef Daniela Soto-Innes.
The night closed with a performance by Grammy-nominated artist and songwriter Florence Welch of the band Florence and the Machine, followed by a DJ set by Coco & Breezy.
