Australian and New York models, designers, creatives, and fashion notables joined co-hosts Laura Brown & Malcolm Carfrae to celebrate the Australian Fashion Foundation’s 15th Annual Summer Party at the JIMMY rooftop in SoHo. Each year, the non-profit 501(c)3 Australian Fashion Foundation (AUSFF) awards two $20,000 USD scholarships and internships with top fashion companies in New York City to the next generation of Australian fashion talent. AUSFF’s Summer Party was presented by its longstanding philanthropic partners, the American Australian Association and The Next Generation, with special thanks to Wölffer Estate.
Attendees included 2021 AUSFF Scholarship Winner Mikayla Hogg alongside Author, Interior Designer, Chef, Athena Calderone, as the two toasted to Hogg’s recently completed AUSFF internship with the EyeSwoon Founder. Oscar de la Renta and Monse Co-Creative Directors, Fernando Garcia & Laura Kim, were also in attendance following 2019 AUSFF Scholarship Winner Domenic Roylance’s recent internship placement, and AUSFF Winner Michelle Li’s forthcoming internship this fall season. Longtime supporters and Australian designers Dion Lee and ZIMMERMANN were felt throughout the room as notable attendees wore looks from their new Fall 2023 collections.
“The AUSFF Summer Party is a much loved reunion of the Australian (and American) fashion industry in New York City, and we are so thankful to our partners the American Australian Association and The Next Generation, founded by Nick & Gabi Molnar, for making it possible. It’s a privilege to be able to support the future of Australia’s brightest fashion talent and build bridges for them to the mighty US fashion industry.” - Malcolm Carfrae (Co-Founder, AUSFF)
