Beloved chef, hostess and culinary creator of Chefanie., Stephanie Nass, welcomed Leatherology. co-founder David Liu to the Hamptons for an intimate beachside bonfire and seated paella dinner to celebrate the summer season in East Hampton. The evening celebration took place at Georgica Beach in East Hampton Village.
Leatherology was founded in 2008 by David Liu and his sister, Rae Liu. The brand is known for its comprehensive range of personalization options, including brightly colored hand-painted monograms and custom stitched, made-to-order trapunto initials, available on a wide range of leather accessories. The brand counts several celebrities – including Kate Hudson, Emma Roberts, Erin Foster, and Sara Foster, just to name a few – among their fans.
Nass, known for her impeccable hostessing skills, was inspired to create an evening reminiscent of summer travel to coastal destinations, while highlighting different ways to cook on the beach. As guests arrived down the beach path towards the flickering lights of the bonfire, they were escorted to a personalization experience featuring Leatherology’s Harwood collection. The focus of the evening was on the Harwood Weekender, Leatherology’s most popular travel bag. In addition to the travel collection, guests previewed what makes Leatherology so special in the market: personalization. With personalization at the forefront of Leatherology’s brand essence, guests were able to experience and participate in the process first-hand.
During the cocktail portion of the evening, guests enjoyed local wine from Wolffer Estate Vineyards, as well as a special sangria prepared by Nass. Guests took their seats at a long table illuminated by lamps and flowers by Tangni Cortes, with customized Leatherology leather luggage tags served as place cards. Nestled between the luggage tags were colorful menus hand-painted by Nass, which also highlighted some of the evening culinary dishes.
Nass followed with welcoming remarks and then served guests from a 4 foot paella pan featuring her special beachside seafood paella – which was served in family-style fashion. As the evening closed out, Nass served guests with a chocolate chip cookie à la mode also cooked over open fire.
Notable guests in attendance included Casey Fremont, Elizabeth Kurpis, Anastasia Ganias, Christy Doramus, Jamie Chandlee, Katie Kime, Ari Ackerman, Christie Grimm, Annelise Peterson, Rachel DaLaoche Williams and Violet Gaynor, and Sophie Elgort along with other social swells.
