Superblue and BMW i partnered to present Pulse Topology, a stunning immersive artwork by Mexican-Canadian artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer in celebration of Miami Art Week. As visitors traversed a series of crests and valleys of pulsing lights at Superblue, artist, activist and ordained minister Reverend Houston Cypress used sensors to detect and record his heartbeat, which replaced the oldest ones, creating a memento mori in which the trace of individual heartbeats gains poetic strength as a powerful choir of human connection. In addition to the new exhibit, guests also enjoyed visiting the first-ever fully-electric BMW i7 sedan on display outside of Superblue.
Guests included Mollie Dent-Brocklehurst, Jen Thiemer, David Grutman, City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, Martha Graef, Victor Cruz, among others who received an exclusive first look of Pulse Topology - a biometric artwork consisting of 3,000 suspended light bulbs, each of which glimmers to the heartbeat of different participants.
