It was an afternoon of kids, cookies, crafts…and the mayor! Offering both a children’s boutique experience and enrichment classes, State of Kid celebrated its official Miami Beach ceremonial ribbon cutting with a back-to-school season celebration. Founders Alana Oxfeld and Cheryl Gonzalez were joined by Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber, parents, children and members of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce. Kids painted on walls, played with magic sand, colored, danced, decorated cookies and noshed on quesadillas from neighboring Bodega and smoothies from SunLife Organics. VIP guests included Dan Hechtkopf, Kasey Ashcraft and Michelle Chala, among others. Located in the revamped 1212 Lincoln Road building, State of Kid offers curated retail and a variety of interactive classes from music and movement to cooking and crafts. With additional locations in the Miami Design District and South Miami, State of Kid has found its place in Miami as the go-to for kids and parents.
