The Basser Center for BRCA hosted the BASSER JEAN BASH – UNZIP YOUR GENES, its Inaugural New York City Benefit, with an evening of dinner and celebration, and special performances by American Authors and Freestyle Love Supreme. The benefit raised $8 million for the Basser Center for BRCA.
The Basser Center for BRCA, located within Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center, is the world’s only comprehensive center focused solely on the prevention and treatment of cancers associated with inherited mutations of the BRCA genes.
The evening honored Jon Gray, Global Head of Real Estate at Blackstone, along with his wife Mindy Gray - both University of Pennsylvania alumni and founders of the Basser Center for BRCA. The Basser Center was established in 2012 in honor of Mindy’s sister, Faith Basser, who passed away at the age of 44 of BRCA-related ovarian cancer. The Gray’s have contributed over $30 million to fund the mission of the center.
rag & bone is proudly supporting the Basser Center for BRCA. The brand has created three-limited edition jeans that boast the Basser Center’s distinct logo, which were available for purchase the evening of the event and exclusively at select Bloomingdale’s and rag & bone retail stores, in addition to their respective e-commerce platforms. The jeans will retail for $215 with 7% of sales benefiting the Basser Center.
