Celebrating the launch of the QASIMI fall/winter collection and collaboration with visual artists Basel & Ruanne, guests joined Creative Director, Hoor Al Qasimi for cocktails at the sophisticated Georgia Room located at the Freehand Hotel in New York City.
The collection celebrates freedom of expression through the exploration of culture and subculture, alongside traditional Middle Eastern craft. Traditional garments, techniques and patterns of the Middle East and North Africa are re-imagined for today in rich, elevated constructions. The Keffiyeh scarf, a symbol of resistance and solidarity, is subtly diffused across a range of pieces; including a matelassé and a jacquard weave, alongside Berber-inspired parkas that find new, elegant forms.
As part of the collaboration, QASIMI created a special t-shirt and hoodie that represents the continued stand against social injustice and in solidarity with the Palestine people. All proceeds from the t-shirts and hoodies are going for the Defense for Children International – Palestine.
Guests included Manifest, Ian Michael Crumm, Gabriella Zacche, Tyler Lain, Angel Zheng, Ali Camara, Aissata Diallo, Minnie Kim, Vienna Skye, Justin Lopez and more.
