ZIMMERMANN Spring 2027 explores the idea of quiet strength through softness, fragility, movement, and the ever-changing states of nature. Drawing inspiration from butterflies and the 19th-century scientific illustrations of Harriet and Helena Scott, the collection takes cues from the resilience and constant transformation of the butterfly, translating its movement into fluid silhouettes and intricate craftsmanship.
The collection opens with appliquéd butterflies and petals across a gilded bodice before unfolding into a kaleidoscopic assortment of pieces influenced by directors Gillian Armstrong and Kim Gehrig, alongside the fluid washes of color found in the work of painter Lara Merrett. A soft palette reflects the changing light of the day, moving from lemon and pink into dusky blues, lilac, and dark denim.
Tailored satin sets, softened drill, lace, liquid silks, and denim come together through cascading drapes, layered textures, and precise detailing. Lifelike laser-cut butterflies move with the body, while wide-leg culottes, wave-like flares, and flowing silhouettes emphasize ease and fluidity. Botanical illustrations are transformed into prints and life-sized motifs across organza and denim, with demi-couture techniques elevating the collection’s denim pieces.
Accessories include a new elongated shoulder bag and clutch, the latest iteration of the Cloud 91 bag with floral denim detailing, oversized sunglasses, and printed silk scarves, continuing ZIMMERMANN’s exploration of craft, technique, and the natural world.
