Moss New York hosted a conversation with Sam Lambert and Shaka Maidoh of Art Comes First (ACF) and MAKE ROOM founders Rana Sidahmed and Hind Wildman. They explored what tailoring becomes when heritage meets contemporary art and cultural direction—not a panel or a lecture, but an intimate discussion of art and design.

MAKE ROOM is a platform for conversation and connection, founded by Rana Sidahmed and Hind Wildman, operating at the intersection of design, culture, and ideas. Rooted in a close friendship and built out over long dinners and walks, MAKE ROOM approaches conversation itself as a creative practice — a space where people from different worlds can think out loud, follow an unfinished idea, or ask a question they don’t yet have an answer to.

Working across fashion, technology, architecture, and climate, MAKE ROOM brings together people and perspectives to shape the ideas, relationships, and work that grow from real conversation rather than networking. Rana began her career in design and now works across fashion and technology, helping shape the ideas, systems, and stories that move brands into culture; Hind began in journalism and now works across architecture and climate, making ambitious ideas clear, compelling, and accessible to wider audiences.

At its core, MAKE ROOM functions as both gathering and platform, creating space for unfinished thinking while fostering the relationships and collaborations that follow. Its practice continues to redefine the relationship between conversation and creative work.Art Comes First (ACF) is a multidisciplinary creative studio founded by Sam Lambert and Shaka Maidoh, operating at the intersection of fashion, art, and cultural direction. Rooted in Savile Row tailoring and expanded through contemporary visual language, ACF approaches clothing and image-making as a unified artistic practice.

Working across design, creative direction, and cultural strategy, ACF has collaborated with global brands, institutions, and artists to shape narratives that extend beyond product into experience. Their work spans collections, installations, film, and spatial concepts, often exploring how raw materials, identity, and heritage transform into refined forms.

At its core, ACF functions as both studio and platform, developing original projects while fostering community through mentorship, collaboration, and cultural exchange. Their practice continues to redefine the relationship between craftsmanship and contemporary expression.
