The House of Ruinart presented Maison 1729 during the Frieze Art Fair in New York. Studio 525 (located on West 24th Street was reimagined as a gallery and champagne lounge in partnership with Michelin-starred COTE.
The space is a reflection of Ruinart’s devotion to sustainability and the arts through a retrospective of previous collaborations with David Shrigley, Liu Bolin and Vik Muniz, among others, as well as a residency by artist Sophie Kitching. In collaboration with Maison Ruinart, Sophie Kitching will present a limited-edition series of works through the upcycling of the Second Skin cases that wrap Ruinart Champagne bottles. Created to encourage the collection and recycling of Second Skin cases, the artist transforms the light paper cover made from natural wood fibers into unique multiple hand-crafted coasters inspired by nature.
