The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles hosted The Jaguar Land Rover British Academy Britannia Awards presented by American Airlines on Friday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The British Academy Britannia Awards are BAFTA Los Angeles' highest accolade, a celebration of achievements honoring individuals and companies that have dedicated their careers to advancing the entertainment arts.
Hosted by award winning actor and comedian Jack Whitehall, The 2015 Jaguar Land Rover British Academy Britannia Awards honored Academy Award-nominated director Sam Mendes with the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Excellence in Directing presented by the GREAT Britain Campaign; Academy Award and BAFTA Award-winning actress, Meryl Streep with the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film; Emmy Award-winning comedian Amy Schumer with the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy presented by Kodak; Award-winning actor and late night talk show host James Corden with the Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year presented by Burberry; Award-winning actor Orlando Bloom with the Britannia Humanitarian Award presented by The Beazley Group; and award-winning actor Harrison Ford received the Albert R. Broccoli Britannia Award for Worldwide Contribution to Entertainment.
Proceeds from the gala ceremony support BAFTA Los Angeles’ on-going education, scholarship, community outreach and archival projects.
