The Rubin Museum inspires visitors to make powerful connections between contemporary life and the ideas, culture, and art of the Himalayas, India, and neighboring regions. On the evening of October 8 at Guastavino’s, guests celebrated the Rubin Museum of Art with a cocktail reception, seated dinner, entertainment, silent auction, and after party. Entertainment included masked performers, Tibetan cham dancers, and Falu & Dr. Gaurav Shah, with emcee Dan B. Harris, ABC News Correspondent.
This year, the Rubin Museum will honor co-Founder Donald Rubin with the Heart Connection Award, designed by Tibetan artist Tenzing Rigdol, celebrating his vision, determination, and generosity in creating and nurturing the Rubin Museum, as well as his remarkable impact on the cultural landscape of New York City.
The silent auction, hosted by Paddle8, features 16 luxury items, including unique experiences, high-end jewelry, and contemporary artwork. Proceeds benefit the Rubin Museum of Art’s exhibitions of ancient and contemporary art, education programs for children and families, initiatives for individuals with disabilities and dementia, as well as innovative panel discussions, conversations with artists, films, and concerts.
