Storm King Art Center hosted its first-ever A Summer Night celebration on July 24, 2021. The sold-out event kicked off with an after-hours picnic, where guests enjoyed local Hudson Valley fare under the rising moon and amid the museum’s collection and and 2021 special exhibitions, Sarah Sze: Fallen Sky and Fifth Season, Rashid Johnson: The Crisis, and Outlooks: Martha Tuttle.
The evening concluded with a live performance from acclaimed jazz pianist, Jason Moran—accompanied by Eric Revis on bass and Nasheet Waits on drums—in front of and in response to Johnson’s The Crisis. Bringing together the joy of live music and art under the setting sun, A Summer Night provided a celebration unlike any ever experienced at Storm King Art Center.
