Fashion 4 Development’s (F4D) 5th Annual First Ladies Luncheon at the Pierre Hotel gathered together international First Ladies, fashion industry leaders, political influencers and diplomats from over 100 nations to honor the cooperation between diplomacy and fashion for the greater good of women and children worldwide.
F4D’s Founder Evie Evangelou, co-host Franca Sozzani (Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Italy and Goodwill Ambassador), Coumba Touré (President of Advanced Development for Africa) and OAFLA (Organization of African First Ladies) were joined in celebration by Burak Cakmak, Cindi Leive, Chris Collins, Debbie Levin, Desirée Bollier, Diane Kruger, Erik Rasmussen, Fern Mallis, GuoPei, Harold Koda, Her Excellency Ambassador Al-Thani of Qatar, Josie Maran, Livia Firth, MarkDybul, Michel Sidibé, Michele Sabban, Mrs Ban Ki Moon, Naomi Campbell, Pascale Boistard, Queen Rania of Jordan, Sara Cavazza, Victoria Beckham and Yue-Sai Kan.
During the ceremony, Victoria Beckham received this year’s F4D Award for her pivotal role as Good Will Ambassador on behalf of UNAIDS, recognizing her work across the globe, from Africa to Asia, to raise awareness on HIV and AIDS and bring the disease back on the public agenda. Later, Diane Kruger along with Gery Keszler presented the League of Gentlemen Award to The Global Fund’s CEO Mark Dybul while activist and supermodel Naomi Campbell received a special recognition for her work fighting the Ebola Virus through Fashion for Relief.
