The New York Botanical Garden hosted the Spring Gala on June 3rd, in celebration of KUSAMA: Cosmic Nature, the highly acclaimed exhibition featuring spectacular installations by Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama. After a year-long postponement, the evening raised $1.3 million to support The New York Botanical Garden and its education and outreach programs. The evening was sponsored by Hearst, Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame, and De Beers Jewellers.
The black-tie affair kicked off with a cocktail hour; guests were invited to experience the exhibition spread across NYBG’s iconic 250-acre landscape. Following cocktails, guests were ushered into the Conservatory Tent for a sit-down dinner and dancing, with music by DJ Mei Kwok.
This year’s attendees included Gala Chairs Georgina Bloomberg, Lili Buffett, Kate Davis, Gillian Hearst, Sharon Jacob, Holly Lowen, Ashley McDermott, Janet Montag, and Deborah Royce. Additional attendees included Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Brooke Shields, Nacho Figueras and Delfina Blaquier, Prabal Gurung, Laura Kim, Fernando Garcia, Cynthia Rowley, Tina Leung, Nigel Barker, Cristina Cuomo, Aurora James, Benjamin Bronfman, Brian Atwood and Jake Deutsch, among others.
