One of the only summer events in the Hamptons this season, the farm-to-table dinner picnic celebrated the launch of the Loaves and Fishes Farm Series Cookbooks. Held at the new Sagaponack Farm Distillery, guests entered with face coverings and picked up the Distillery's house hand sanitizer upon arrival.
The Bridgehampton Inn Restaurant's Head Bartender and master mixologist Kyle Fengler created two specialty cocktails featuring the Distillery's own new Aquavit and Cucumber-infused Vodka. A refreshing Watermelon Agua Fresca mocktail (recipe from the Pike Farm volume) was also served.
The picnic dinner boxes contained Loaves and Fishes farm-to-table favorite recipes, all of which are featured in the new cookbooks, including, Eggplant Olive Dip with Pita Toast (Pike Farm), Zucchini Chicken Burgers (Foster Farms), Tomato Beet Salad (Foster Farm) and Cherry Hand Pies (Green Thumb), among others.
Tom Wardle serenaded the socially-distanced crowd while they enjoyed dinner and drinks at picnic tables and blankets on the lawn. Sybille van Kempen, her co-author Licia Kassim Householder, and the Foster and Halsey farm families signed copies of the cookbooks.
Guests included Sybille van Kempen hosted notable attendees including Shoshanna Gruss, Gigi and Carl Grimstad, Kendell Cronstrom, Lady Liliana Cavendish, Krista and Jim Corl, Lillie and Charles Howard, Lesley Schulhof, Helen Schifter, Kim Vernon, among others.
