A featured event at Frieze LA, California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) hosted a private gathering to launch 50+50: A Creative Century from Chouinard to CalArts, an ongoing series of limited edition artworks by alumni artists, which will be sold to establish funds for a new scholarship endowment.
Many of the participating artists were in attendance including: Beatriz Cortez, Laddie John Dill, Liz Glynn, Naotaka Hiro, Liz Larner, Dashiell Manley, Dave Muller, Kelly Nipper, Tony Oursler, Gala Porras-Kim, Allen Ruppersberg, Barbara T. Smith and Henry Taylor.
A number of guests from the Los Angeles, New York, and international art community, including museum directors, and curators attended as well, including Klaus Biesenbach, Connie Butler, Anne Ellegood, Elsa Longhauser, and publisher Lisa Ivorian-Jones; and gallerists Tanya Bonakdar, Katie Brennan, Jeannie Freilich, Anton Kern, Kibum Kim, Andrew Kreps, Janelle Reiring, Helene Winer, and Tony Webster.
