Venerable restaurateur and fixture of New York City nightlife, Omar Hernandez (founder of Omar at Vaucluse on the Upper East Side) is extending the party downtown to the Lower East Side. His latest endeavor, encompassing a dining club - Omar’s - and a discotheque - La Boîte - was celebrated with an exclusive opening party.
Upon arrival to Omar’s, guests got a peek at the backstage area through a one-way mirror, before being greeted with a bespoke cocktail, and venturing down a long, dark hall towards the private dining room. Within the gilded space, attendees enjoyed music from DJ Kevin Aviance and a performance by Chino and his band, as well as burlesque performances by Emily Shephard, Duane Gosa, and Julie M. Smith. Later in the evening as everyone descended the stairs to La Boîte, guests mingled and drank in the richly decorated bar area, and in the 80s-themed discoteque, where they danced the night away to DJ Adam Gondola.
Omar Hernandez celebrated with more than 300 attendees including Flynn McGarry, Rose Hartman, John Demsey, Alison Jackson, Alex Assouline, Prosper Assouline, Paul Haggis, Martine Assouline, Robert Wiesenthal, Nausheen Shah, Ann Dexter Jones, Alina Baikova, Young Paris, Chong Cha, and many more.
