SNL’s Chloe Fineman hosted a special installment of ‘Café Kallmeyer’ alongside Daniella Kallmeyer and Pam Drucker Mann at storied Hollywood lounge, The Dresden in Los Angeles.
Marking the launch of DRAFTING by Run-A-Muck, the evening celebrated raw talent and community with a show that featured a line-up of polished talent sharing rough drafts. As introduced by Fineman: “Drafting is about approaching whatever you do, artistic or otherwise, with an openness to imperfection. Tonight you’re going to see familiar faces out of context, as talented artists try things for the first time.”
To kick off the night, guests gathered for YOLA martinis & café dinner service in The Dresdon’s dining room before PAMÉ surprised the audience with an original song, guiding them into the lounge where Jean-Luc Eldenwood was on the piano as guests took their seats. The show began with a toast by hosts Daniella & Pam, who welcomed emcee Chloe Fineman to the stage.
The evening continued with a dynamic range of performances – from actress Mamie Gummer performing a heartfelt tribute to the late, great Diane Keaton, to poetry by screenwriter Shamikah Christina Martinez, an iconic original reinterpretation of an L Word monologue written by Ilene Chaiken and performed by Jennifer Beals, and a musical serenade by Greek singer-songwriter Monika Christodoulou. After actress and model Zoey Reyes sensuously taught the audience to make YOLA’s signature martini, multidisciplinary artist Moses Sumney took the stage with Brad Oberhofer to perform an original song, followed by a hauntingly beautiful rendition of Nina Simone’s “Twelfth of Never”.
To end the night, the ensemble joined Chloe back on stage for an impromptu, joyful “First Wives Club”-esque singalong to “You Don’t Own Me” – before PAMÉ reappeared to sing the audience into the late-night after-party.
