Thursday marked a busy night at The Miami Beach EDITION during Art Basel Miami Beach. In keeping with EDITION’s very own Stay Plastic Free initiative to remove all single use plastics from the hospitality industry, EDITION partnered with Lonely Whale on their own Museum of Plastic pop up exhibition based in the hotel’s vast forum space. To mark the opening of the Museum of Plastic, EDITION and Lonely Whale hosted a special panel with a diverse group of environmentalists from different industries. Speakers included the EDITION’s very own Ben Pundole, also founder of Stay Plastic Free, Heron Preston, fashion designer and DJ, Mayor of Miami Beach Dan Gelber and Young Hero Founder Roberto Max Salas and Lonely Whale’s Emma Riley.
The evening continued with Aperture hosting a book signing of The New Black Vanguard with Antwaun Sargent. Guests gathered at The Lobby Bar of The Miami Beach EDITION for this exclusive book signing and reception. Following the book signing, The Miami Beach EDITION hosted various VIP dinners including a dinner for Ballroom Marfa and Architectural Digest celebrating Leo Villareal’s installation at the property and a dinner in celebration of artist Chloe Wise’s Birthday hosted by Ganni. The evening concluded with parties at Basement featuring DJ Bedouin and DJ Nicola Zanatta in the club andLaurence Matte in Basement Bowl & Skate.
